Sheriff Infante is a competent and highly-committed leader whose resume includes a 23-year law enforcement career in the Dallas County Sheriff's Office where he has been dedicated to the people who live and work in Dallas County.
Preceding his appointment as Sheriff in 2022, Sheriff Infante served as the Chief Deputy for eight years. The Chief Deputy serves as the acting Sheriff in the Sheriff's absence and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the entire Sheriff's office. Before being appointed as Chief Deputy, Sheriff Infante served in the positions of patrol deputy, detective, and was appointed to serve in a special assignment with the Mid Iowa Narcotics Enforcement (MINE) Task Force. Three years of his service were dedicated to the nationally recognized Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Task Force, where he assisted in several high-profile cases throughout the United States. Sheriff Infante is a graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy’s 271st session. This elite program admits less than one percent of all law enforcement officers.

Sheriff Infante is a native to Iowa and a graduate of Iowa State University. He has served on several local boards, actively volunteers in the community, and is an active member of Hope Waukee Church. He also dedicates much of his time to coaching several of his children’s sports teams. He resides in Waukee with his two children and wife Sarah who is a Graphic Designer and also actively volunteers in the community and schools. In his spare time, Sheriff Infante enjoys exercise, mountain bike riding, family travel, and working on his Jeep.

• Took over Dispatching for the city of Perry - Saved Perry taxpayers money - Saved E911 money by reducing redundant equipment - Improved efficiency and safety for law enforcement - Created a collaborative environment by sharing software and intel
• Overhauled and modernized our policies manual - Reduces liability
• Implemented online training to reduce travel time for State mandated training requirements
• Built an App for smartphones - Improves access to inmate information - Provides for mass notifications to the public and employees - Transparent to the public-can see our calls for service and press releases - Shows sex offenders in the county
• Continually re-evaluating assignments to better serve our growing community
• Helped choose and build our office software and then worked to give it to all of our partner agencies. Thus improving communication, safety, and intelligence. Continue to build and reform the software to better serve the needs of our agency and the others in Dallas County.
• Hosting more and more trainings at our building - Reduces our training costs - Allows for specialized trainings
• Reworked our website to better communicate with the public.
• Established long term budgeting priorities for communications and other capital expenses. - Reduces upfront costs and allows for long term planning
• Working with all school districts and local agencies to improve school safety
• Prioritizing wellness for our employees - Peer Support - Critical Stress Debriefings after traumatic events - Worked with HR on new EAP - Working on offering counseling services as needed - Developing Chaplain program
• Professional Development for Admin - National level training for future leaders in the office - LEEDA/FBINA/Northwest College
• Upgraded our old in car and body camera equipment - Better prosecution
